Life around a dead red door

Quote of the day (and not particularly connected to the above):
"Men can see nothing around them that is not their own image; everything speaks to them of themselves. Their very landscape is alive"

Let's make a new competition: Who said this? Was he a man or a woman? Did he look like Santa Claus or not? And what was his favorite color?
Prizes will be as elusive as ever, this time you can win a warm smile and a long nose (as we say in Denmark).

Uh uh pick me! pick me!!!

He was a man, he did indeed look like Santa, and allthough he, to the best of my knowledge, never spoke in public on the subject of favorite colours, a qualified quess to this matter would be red.

By the way, he also said this

"...a bee puts to shame many an architect in the construction of her cells. But what distinguishes the worst architect from the best of bees is this, that the architect raises his structure in imagination before he erects it in reality."

Frede - you are absolutely RIGHT. You will, however, get minus points for googling your way to the correct answer. Therefore the warm smile will be subtracted from the prize, which will then only consist of a long nose.

Fortunately your inclusion of the other very nice quote by Marx will upgrade you with an extra brotherly pat on the back ;)
